************ 1962 Iceland Scenery **************

by Mike Stevens - RangerXLT1972@aol.com

Version 1, April 2018, for FS2004 only.

NOTE: This file, AI traffic, and lots of classic airliners can be downloaded free from Tom Gibson's California Classics at - http://www.calclassic.com/

************************

Two airports are included in this scenery:

1. BIRK Reykjavik airport. Reykjavik airport was the main civilian airport in Iceland. Reykjavik airport was the home of Icelandair (Flugfelag Islands) and Loftleidir.

2. BIKF Keflavik airport. Keflavik was a U.S. Naval Air Station that had a joint use agreement with Pan Am for international civilian flights. Military charters also used Keflavik. Keflavik was the main North Atlantic air station for anti submarine and electronic surveilance aircraft during the cold war.

*This scenery also includes two landclass files (located inside the "landclass" folder).

*For EditVoicePack users, I have included four files that you can import into your EditVoicePack. This corrects the mispronounciation of "Reykjavik" and "Keflavik" with two of the default voices.

**** IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR THE USER PLEASE READ ****

YOU WILL NEED TO DOWNLOAD the MEGA download for the Static Objects library from WWW.CalClassic.com, along with the AI downloads if you wish to see traffic. If you already use the classic AI traffic, make sure you have the latest update as there are some airport changes in this scenery. Be sure you have the latest MATS traffic installed in order to see any military traffic at Keflavik.

Suggested Additions:

If you do not have another airport texture addon, I suggest that you download and install airland1.zip from AVSIM or elsewhere. It increases frame rates while adding detail to the concrete and asphalt aprons, taxiways, and runways.

AI propliner, AI military and AI GA traffic matching this scenery is available separately from www.calclassic.com (AI Aircraft page).

Reykjavik airport by Mike Stevens.

Keflavik airport co-authored with John Stinstrom and assistance with Tom Gibson. Many thanks to John Stinstrom for his military hangars, buildings and bunkers at Keflavik. For those who would like a modern version of Keflavik as it exists today, John has created a nice scenery available at Flightsim.com. The zip file is called bikf_js.zip.

Airport surfaces created with ADE, by Jon Masterson - thanks Jon!

This scenery uses Rwy12 and EZ-Scenery Object Libraries. Wonderful job, guys!

Produced using SceneGenX by Tom Hiscox, GMAX by Discreet, ExcBuilder by Paavo Pihelgas, Ground2K4 by Christian Fumey, AND Instant Scenery by Konstantin Kukushkin (Abacus). Thanks to all!

INSTALLATION

1. Quit FS2004 if running.

2. Unzip this zip file to a temporary folder. Then move the Iceland 1962 folder into your FS2004 addon scenery folder.

3. Move the two landclass files from the "landclass" folder located inside the Iceland 1962 zip file into your CalClassic LandClass/scenery folder. If you do not have such a folder, create a folder entited "CalClassic LandClass" in your addon scenery folder and within that folder create another folder called "scenery" and place the two landclass files into that scenery folder, then activate that folder in your Scenery Library.

NOTE FOR NEXT STEPS: If you have already installed some of the CalClassic scenery packages,
you may have at least some of the required scenery layers installed. If so, skip that
step below.

5. Start FS2004, and go to the Settings/Scenery Library choice on the opening screen. If you are currently flying, press Escape (Esc) and then End Flight to get to this screen. Look at the top portion of the list. If there is no
CalClassic Landclass area listed there, click on the Add Area button. Double click the ADDON SCENERY folder. Click the CalClassic Landclass folder once. Click OK. If you are using system 7 or later you must click the white area on the screen to make it disappear.

6. Click on the Add Area button. Double click the ADDON SCENERY folder. Click the Iceland 1962 folder once. Click OK. If you are using system 7 or later you must click the white area on the screen to make it disappear.

7. For EditVoicePack users, I have included four files that you can import into your EditVoicePack. This corrects the mispronounciation of "Reykjavik" and "Keflavik" with two of the default voices.

8. Click OK. Quit and restart FS.

9. If you later want to fly in the modern era, just go into the Scenery Library
(Settings/Scenery Library) and click on the Enabled box next to the Iceland 1962 and CalClassic Landclass entries until the red check marks are removed to deactivate the 1962 scenery (do not deactivate the Static
Objects Library layer). Reverse this process again to go back to 1962.

NOTE: This file, AI Traffic for this scenery (and the world), and lots of classic
airliners can be downloaded free from Tom Gibson's Classic Airliner web site at -
